

Howard was born on March 19th, 1935, in The Bronx, the son of Rebecca & Adolph Pressman.
Howard was a graduate of Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Hobart College in Geneva, NY. He then went to Dental School at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. From there he served in the U.S. Army in France with a six-year commission. He completed a residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT.
Following his residency, Howard was associated in private practice with Dr. Irving Meyer in Springfield, MA. From 1974-2011 Howard became the Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon at the V.A. Hospital in Albany, NY. In Albany, NY treating veterans and teaching dental residents. He served as the president of the medical staff and travelled to veteran posts to offer head and neck screenings.
Howard was an active member of the Jewish War Veterans Post 105. He served as Senior Commander in 2002-2003 and for many years coordinated Operation Jingle Bells where JWV members and friends would bring gifts and cards to the inpatients at the V.A on Christmas Eve.
Howard was a member of Temple Israel in Albany where he served two terms on the Board of Directors. He also was a member of Congregation Beth Emeth where he volunteered on the Reyut committee.
Howard’s lifelong love of sports included stickball as a child, basketball and baseball. In adulthood he enjoyed tennis, bicycling and cross-county skiing.
Howard is survived by his beloved wife Marlene, his devoted children, son Michael (Floren) Pressman of Westfield, NJ and daughter Andrea (Claudia) Pressman-Ochoa of San Francisco, CA, and cherished grandchildren Marla and Maxwell Pressman.
A Funeral Service will be held at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ.
Burial will take place at Mt Freedom Hebrew Cemetery, 100 South Road, Randolph, NJ.
