Jack M. Agran

Jack Michael Agran, 73, of Essex Fells, NJ passed away on September 26, 2021, a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Ruth and Saul Agran. He was also predeceased by his sister, Iris Geller, and his step-son, Adam Cooperstein.

Having grown up in poverty, Jack worked hard to provide a better life for his family. He honed his craft of perfumery for over 50 years, having spent the majority of his career at Givaudan where he recently retired as Senior Vice President of Perfumery. An icon in the Industry, Jack valued the many colleagues he met along the way and considered his friends at Givaudan an extension of his family. He genuinely cared about the business and the people, loved to mentor others, and was famous for supplying generations of Givaudan colleagues with extra pounds from all of the chocolate and Malomar cookies. Jack had a wicked sense of humor which remained even during the most difficult of times; never held a grudge and always found the good in everyone and in every situation. He loved music, vacationing with family, going to concerts and plays, and could play any song on the piano by ear. His only vice was laying in the sunshine, especially on a sunny Sunday.

Jack was an incredible Father who loved his children, grandchildren, and his wife above all else. He was the beloved husband of Lynn Agran, loving father of Greg, Adam, Jeremy, & Sheri, and father-in-law of Ariel, devoted grandfather of Cierra, Katie, Tyler, Justin, Jesse, Stellan, and Kevah, and cherished brother of Sandra and Nina, brother-in-law to Al. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members.
