A Woman who lived the Beatitudes of her Christian Faith

Joan Mary O’Keefe of Naples, Florida, formerly of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2013. She was 74 years old.

Services will be conducted from the LaMonica Memorial Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave. Livingston on Monday, June 3, at 8:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 9:45 am. Entombment is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-4 and 6-9 pm.

Joan was known by her friends as Joni, was a dedicated friend, trusted employee, and a passionate loyal family member. Born to Rose (nee Smith) and Harry O’Keefe, Joan spent most of her life in Bloomfield, NJ before retiring to Naples, Florida in 2001. She was a trusted employee of the Brookdale ShopRite for over 38 years. As Front-End Manager, Joan was a hardworking, loyal, trusted, employee.

Joan leaves behind cherished memories with her brother Bob O’Keefe and sisters Florence LaBruzzo, Eileen Nicastro and Rosemarie Walsh, her 17 nieces and nephews, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Joan’s generous, sweet heart, warm smile, gentle manner, and her fierce loyalty and passion for goodwill among her many friends, neighbors and family will be missed by all who have known her.
