Michael E. Jacobson died peacefully in Livingston, NJ on May 1, 2016 at the age of 79. He is survived by his brother Allen and sister in law, Myra; four children, Jordan, Noah, Rachel and Taylor; 5 grandchildren, Choe, Mia, Keira, Sage, and Jonah, and daughter in law, Joey.
Michael (Jake) was born on April 18, 1937 in Newark, NJ to William Jacobson and Francis Lilien. He attended Barringer High School and then Seton Hall University. He began working for J B Hanauer where he continued to work until retirement 35 years later. He had a passion for charity fund-raising, which included the Valerie Fund, RP foundation, and The First Tee. He loved the game of golf and was a proud honorary member of the PGA and an MGA official. He was fiercely proud of his children and is loved by his surviving family.
A funeral is scheduled for May 3, 2016 at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman funeral home at 10am. Shiva will be held on May 3, 2016 from 12pm-3pm & 5pm-7pm and then on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 3pm-7pm at the Great Room in Livingston Town Center. Contributions can be made to The First Tee Foundation.
