A year has gone- no word from Sister Susie- We spoke everday-  Susie had many great qualities-
A loss to be sure-

Susan and I shared a dorm (Gibbons) freshman year at Douglass College, Rutgers University.   We also had a Jersey City connection as my mother grew up there.  About ten years ago I looked for and found her on Facebook and we reconnected, sharing many political views and memories of Douglass.  I still remember a Marx Brothers routine (the one with the mirror image) we did together.  She had a great sense of humor and was so empathetic, sensitive and intelligent.  
My sincere condolences to her sisters and friends.

Susan (Stein) Cassel

We started our union careers together; organizing a number of young, aggressive believers for the cause of supporting working people. The "Whiz Kids" were born and took over Ford's Rawsonville Plant and UAW Local 898. Of course Sue was the smartest Whiz Kid, regularly kicking our butts in Trivea Pursuit. Sue was witty and kind and generous but when she saw an injustice she visciously went after it. A true friend, a great union representative and an asset to the community, Sue will be missed.

Susan was my best friend in high school. We were a close bunch at Snyder High. We all belonged to BBG. I'd call us all best friends.  Susan was the smartest (no offense to the rest of us!) but she never made herself more important. In fact, she was quiet, funny, helpful and the best friend I thought I would ever have. Then we left for college and like most of us, we lost touch. I knew she moved to Michigan. And about 10 years ago I decide to use Facebook to reunite us all. It was great having dinner together a few times. But sadly, we lost touch again. Next month Barbara, Erna and I  planned lunch together but Susan never responded. I wish we knew how ill she was. Even though she won't be physically with us, she'll be there.  You will be loved always by us!

When she was young Sue was very involved with
B'Nai Brith Girls.

Always available to us- I am going to miss her everyday.  Susie enjoyed herself. Professionally, Sue helped thousands of people get their rights.

I admired and loved her very much. Losing Susie is a big loss to me-Sister Olly

I met Sue while we’re both working at the Ford Rawsonville Plant Ypsilanti,Mi the members there were represented by UAW Local 898.I cannot forget her energy, knowledge and compassion. We both ran together for elected offices in the Union and we each won our respective positions. Our deepest condolences and sympathy to her family and friends. Sue will always be remembered.

Our older Sister- I feel bereft- Everything changed and we watched her slip away. I will always be longing for her.

I never knew of a world without her. SUSIE was a genius, humanitarian and fine human being. SUSIE helped thousands of people learn their rights and helped them achieve their goals.
I am going to miss her. I miss her already.
