Pam and Al made quite a team.  We have had so many good times together.  Al was always up for adventure and a good time.  He and Pam loved to dance and go out to see their many friends.  He enjoyed life and that made it always a pleasure to be with him.  We will sincerely miss him.... He was quite a guy!    Pat & Nelson

Jeff, Matt and the entire Deslippe Family,

So sorry to hear of Al's recent passing.  As we move into our later years, it seems many of us lose touch with each other.....which is really too bad - as we spent so many years in business, and in the frequent company of one another.   

From the 70's when we first met until he was able to enjoy retirement, (through his years at Moshier, Norwest, Detroit Temp and Esper; and maybe a couple I've missed)), Al was an integral part of the HVAC industry in Detroit.  Though I learned how to calculate a buiding load and design systems from my dad, it was Al that taught me how to really design an air system.  He had a great imagination for how things could go and should go.  He was resilient, as you had to be in business.  He was quick to his temper, but quicker to his laugh.   I will never forget Al's laugh - which was like no other.  

Al's one-man golf cart was just another example of a man with a vision.  I'm not sure if he ever got it into production, but he was a grinder, and I'd bet he stuck with it for as long as it needed tweaking.

Rest in Peace old friend.  And May God be with you all at this difficult time.



I remember Albert coming into Detroit Temperature Engineers often & always with a smile on his face.  I'm sure he will be

Al Deslippe was a HVAC industry icon who will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know him.  Albert took pride and pleasure in teaching me sheet metal industry lessons and lessons for life.  I am a better person for knowing Al, and will always treasure our times together.  I just wish he would have let me make a couple of more points on our jobs together!!!  Whenever I came in to the office we would talk about the big fish  mounted on the wall, caught by Al and my dad on one of their boondoggles,  and how getting it processed, stuffed, mounted and shipped cost twice as much as the vacation itself...fond memories.  Our sincere condolences to Matt & Kim and Jeff & April.


So sorry to hear of Al's passing. I send my condolences to his family. I met Al in the T Birds Ski Club. He was always smiling and we would kid one another. I had a fun time when I was dressed in costume at a Halloween Dance and he could not figure out who I was. A good laugh over that. 

Pam:

As you know, we loved Al and miss him already. He was so full of life and left this world with his head held high. 

Jesse and I have enjoyed getting to know you through Al these past few years. The two of you had such a great relationship. You were there for each other in such a compassionate way.  Al told us the week before he passed that he was amazed at the way you cared for him.  We watched you go through those final days with such grace...always by Al's side. He was blessed to have you in his life as you were to have him. Please keep in touch. We love you and wish you the best.

Matt and Jeff:

As you know, your Dad and I were friends for 45 years. I watched you grow into men and saw how proud your Dad was of you and your families.  We had many wonderful memories. Your Dad was a hard worker, but he was a good friend to many of us over the years.  I was happy that we got to spend the last few winters together down here in Sarasota.  He was surrounded by his friends during the last couple of weeks of his life. "Little Al" was a center character of our golf group. We will all miss him.
