Barbara was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 6, 1934 to Dillard and Della Gabbard. Most of her schooling was in the Detroit Public Schools. In 1948 her family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Fl. for her mothers health reason. Barbara graduated from Fort Lauderdale Florida High School. The family moved back to Detroit in 1951 and Barbara got a job as a secretary with a CPA firm in Detroit.
Barbara met Billy Collins, they fell in love and got married on December 10, 1955. They purchased their first house in Detroit, but spent most of their lives raising their 2 sons, Robert and David in Livonia.
Billy passed away in 2006 and Barbara moved to her new home in South Lyon in 2007.
After a courageous fight with many health issues Barbara died at St Mary's Hospital in Livonia on Friday, March 9th, 2012.

A Funeral Service will follow the Visitation at 12:00pm at the funeral home.
