Beloved wife of over 58 wonderful years to Richard C. Yannatta. Loving mother of Chuck (Heather) Yannatta and Victoria (Donald) Richmond. Proud grandma of Jacob Yannatta, Charlie Yannatta, Isabelle Richmond, and Olivia Richmond. Dear sister of Frank (Jan) Fucile, and cherished sister-in-law of Delores Yannatta.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Casper and Mary Fucile, and her sister Trudy Egan.
Barb was a gifted hairdresser who earned her cosmetology license in 1961 and poured her heart into her work for decades. She loved the energy of the salon, the conversations with clients, and the joy of making people feel their best. Even well into her later years, she continued to work two days a week—right up until she was 80—because she truly loved what she did.
For 17 years, Barb and Richard enjoyed their special place up north in Harbor Springs. They spent countless days on the boat together, taking in the peaceful beauty of the water. Above all else, Barb loved her time with family—especially her grandchildren, who were the pride of her life and brought her endless joy.
She cherished her friendships, most especially with her lifelong best friend Marilyn Urso, whom she met at just 14 years old. From that day on, they were inseparable. With Marilyn living only a couple houses away, Barb and Richard were surrounded by friendship, laughter, and a strong sense of community in their neighborhood.
Proud of her Italian heritage, Barb was happiest in the kitchen, cooking for the people she loved and making sure everyone had more than enough to eat. Her signature spaghetti sauce was a family tradition that will always be remembered.
When she wasn’t at the salon or in the kitchen, Barb enjoyed relaxing at home with Richard, watching baseball together. They especially loved cheering on the Detroit Tigers and treasured those quiet moments side by side.
Barb will be remembered as a woman of strength, grace, and heart—someone who could face anything life brought her way. Above all, her greatest joy was the love she shared with her family and friends. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
