Born in Garden City, Michigan, Carol was the beloved daughter of the late Wilbur and Gertrude Marquardt. She dedicated more than 30 years to Dearborn Public Schools, where she worked in the Special Education Department. Over the years, she became a vital part of the team, serving as the trusted administrative assistant to the Director of Special Education. Carol was known for her sharp organizational skills, dedication, and deep care for the students and families she supported behind the scenes.
Carol was a woman of many layers—fiercely intelligent, fiercely independent, and always full of fire. She had a quick wit and a sarcasm that could catch you off guard and make you laugh out loud. She didn’t sugarcoat things, but she loved deeply and loyally. Once you were in her circle, you were there for good.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—reading a good book, traveling to new places, and spending time with her family. But one of her greatest joys was numbers. Whether it was solving puzzles, tracking statistics, or counting anything she could get her hands on, she had a mind that loved order and logic. That love naturally extended to her fondness for the casino. She loved the energy, the sounds, and the thrill of the game. Slot machines were her favorite—she had her lucky rituals, and she could sit for hours, playfully analyzing patterns and hoping for just the right spin. It wasn’t just about winning; it was the game itself, the rhythm of the numbers, and the little sparkle of possibility.
Carol was the devoted mother of Jerry (Becky) Majetic and Lori Majetic, and the proud "Meema" of Sophie (Moe) Saadi, Amelia Majetic, Molly Majetic, and Luke Majetic. She was the cherished sister of the late Linda (Ray) Jarvis, Paul (Terri) Marquardt, Gordy (Donna) Marquardt, Patrick (Renee) Marquardt, Donna (the late Bill) Juhnke, and Nancy (Rob) Suriano. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her strength, her laugh, and her one-of-a-kind presence.
A memorial gathering for Carol will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Carol’s honor.
Carol left a bold mark on this world, and she will be remembered with love, laughter, and deep gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
