

Carolyn M. Groh, 92, a Livonia resident for nearly 70 years, passed away suddenly on March 4, 2019. Mrs. Groh was born to Harold & Pauline (nee: Powell) Burchfield in Pontiac, Michigan on October 12, 1926. She was the middle child, between two brothers, Warren and Neal. Graduated in 1944 from Northwestern High School in Detroit, later attending Wayne State University. She married Robert on September 6, 1952 in Detroit. Robert and Carolyn raised their family of three in Livonia. Carolyn treasured her family bonds with her husband, including his family, children, mother, brothers and their families. Carolyn was beloved because she was so very spirited, generous and compassionate.
Mrs. Groh is survived by her children, Linda (Scott) Hyde, David Groh, and Steven (Emily) Groh; 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth (James) Gerblick, Matthew Hyde, Elyse (Matthew) Koester and Mitchell (Alyssa Blake) Groh; 3 great-grandchildren, James Gerblick, Greg and Lorelei Koester. Mrs. Groh was predeceased by her husband Robert (1997), brothers, Warren (Madaline) Burchfield and Neal (Jessie) Burchfield.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 8th at 12:30 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia. Friends may visit Thursday, March 7th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:30 am until the time of the funeral. Please share a memory of Mrs. Groh with her family at her online guest book.
