

Chris George Mandas passed away on December 30, 2022 after a short illness. He was 75 years old. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth Madas. He is survived by his daughters Cassandra (Robert) Rood of Grand Rapids and Catherine (Michael) Livanos of Los Angeles, his grandchildren: Robert, Phineas, Magnus, Xavier, and Zooey; and his brother Peter (Antonia) Mandas of Huntington Woods and two nieces.
Chris was born in Detroit and raised in River Rouge, Michigan. He is a 1965 graduate of River Rouge High School. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1973. He spent his professional career working in food service sales and management. Chris was a devoted father and grandfather and found so much joy in spending time with his grandchildren. He valued his friendships tremendously and delighted in gathering with his friends from Rouge, many of whom he had known since childhood. Chris will be remembered for fierce devotion to loved ones, his fun-loving and occasionally inappropriate sense of humor, and his Greek good looks.

Visitation will be held at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48152 from 5-8 PM on January 4, with prayers at 7 PM. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on January 5 at St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 36375 Joy Rd, Westland, MI 48185, with a visitation at 9:30 AM.
