Christine Marie Reiher “Chrissy” was born September 15, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan to her parents Ruth and the late Raymond Thomas. Christine passed away surrounded by family on March 19, 2021. Beloved wife of Ronald K. Reiher for 43 years. Proud mother of Jeffrey Reiher, Timothy (Kimberly) Reiher, and Jonathan (Anna) Reiher. Loving grandmother of Hailey, Jessie, Noah, Paige, Isabella, and Jack. Dear sister of Dave (Lorrie) Thomas, Cliff (Pina) Thomas, Carol (Alan), Maureen, and Norman (Robin) Thomas. Dearest aunt of Lindsay, Samantha, Scott, Kristin, Michael, Mark, Kevin, Steven, and Luke. Cherished cousin of Gary (Alicia), Tom (Veronica), and Karen (Mark). Loving niece of Rita (Dario), Fr. Norman P. Thomas of Sacred Heart Detroit, Ronald "Ronnie" (Bernie), and Ronald (Judy). Lifelong friend of 48 years to Linda (Randy) Teasley and godmother and mentor to Linda’s children; Jason, Michael, and the late Barb, who she loved. College pals of Pat Collins and Sue Gall.
Chris went to grade school at Immaculate Heart of Mary and graduated from Rosary High School in 1974. She later went to college at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan, and graduated in 1976 with a degree in early education. She met the love of her life, Ron, and together they raised their 3 sons. Chris loved going to watch her sons sporting events and eventually when they had kids of their own, she was always there to root for her grandchildren at their games or competitions.
Chris always had a way of putting others first. She was a founding member of the boy scout troop 2001 and supported them for 20 years. She was very involved with her community and was always donating or helping out the less fortunate. In her spare time, she loved gardening and painting as she was very artistic. But, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, they truly meant everything to her; going on adventures with her husband to Punta Gorda Isles, Florida for their honeymoon or a simple day trip to St. Ignace Casino. Her favorite trip of all was a girls' trip to Gatlinburg, TN. Chris was caring, compassionate, supportive, and an all-around incredible woman. There are not enough words to express how much she will be missed by her family and friends.
