Denise Marie Greener

Denise Marie Greener, age 56, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, after a courageous fight against cancer. Denise was born on May 23, 1969, in Wayne, Michigan, to her loving parents, Norman and Bernadette.

Denise is survived by her devoted mother, Bernadette (Dennis) Barratt; her two beloved daughters, Megan (Kenneth) Shnerpunas and Mackenzie (Zachary) Nichols; and her treasured grandson, Nolan Johnson, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her brother, Jay-sinn (Christine) Messner; her niece, Eden Messner; her nephew, Maxim Messner; and many cherished close friends who were like family to her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Messner.

Denise graduated from Garden City East High School and spent many years working at Brentwood Grill in Novi, where she loved interacting with her work family and customers. Denise had a gift for connecting with people and made everyone feel welcome.

Known as the life of the party, Denise could light up any room she entered. She was sassy yet sweet, full of laughter, and always ready to have a good time, earning her reputation as a true “party animal” among her friends. Above all, Denise was an incredible grandmother, absolutely adoring her grandson Nolan and creating special memories with him.

Denise loved warm weather, relaxing on the beach, and trips to the casino. Her vibrant spirit, contagious laugh, and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Denise’s life will be held at a later date.
