Donald G. Rathgeber

Donald G. Rathgeber born January 28, 1939 in Lincoln, Nebraska to his late parents Albert and Irene. Don passed away peacefully on March 5, 2020 with his family by his side. Beloved husband of the late Margaret. Loving dad of Gale (Martin) Barr, Julie (Alan) Ramsden and Russell (Julie) Rathgeber. Proud grandpa of Sarah Barr, Colin (Rebecca) Barr, Eric Rathgeber, Quinn Rathgeber, Tony Ramsden and Clare Ramsden. Dearest brother of Verna (Larry) Headley.

Don was a hard worker, he received his Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and later moved to Michigan to work in the automotive industry for Ford Motor Company. He was extremely proud to be an engineer and being able to work on cars like the Mustang. Another great pass time for Don was hunting and fishing whether it was with friends or family. He was a professional road-rallyer for many years as part of the Hairy Canary Rally Team, a hobby he greatly enjoyed . Later in life, he became chairman of the Sno*Drift Rally, which was run annually in northern Michigan in January. Don's greatest blessing in life was his family, spending time with them at the family cottage in the summer's or spending many holiday's together is something he enjoyed the most.

Visitation will be held Sunday March 8, 2020 at 12:00pm until time of service at 5:00pm at Harry J Will Funeral Home in Livonia.
