Edith Ann Lipa, 99, passed away on October 10, 2020 just nine days short of her 100th birthday. Edith was born in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania on October 19, 1920 to John and Anna Ocelvany, their second child. She married the love of her life Leo J. Lipa on Feb. 12, 1944. Together they raised four children. She loved to dance, play cards (specifically pinochle), and loved spending time “at the lake”.
Mrs. Lipa is survived by her children, Dennis (Toni) Lipa, Kenneth (Carol) Lipa, Linda (Steve) Githens, and Karen (Tony) Franchi; grandchildren, Stephanie Skinner, Nichole (Matt) Outlaw, Michael (Julie) Lipa, Kevin (Betty) Githens, A.J. (Ashley) Franchi, and Alyssa Franchi; great-grandchildren, Jentery, Ally, Rachael, Emma, Tyler, Hannah, Savannah, and Scarlett. In addition to her parents and brother, Mrs. Lipa was pre-deceased by her husband, Leo her brother, John Ocelvany and her parents.
Family and friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at St. James Catholic Church 46325 West Ten Mile Road, Novi, Michigan 48374.
