A year has passed since Emily left us. However, her presence is felt in many ways by her family and friends. I always remember her sweet smile and the ways in which  she created beautiful art. And when I see birds, flowers, and greenery, I think of Emily and her love of the outdoors. She was a flower in her own way. My heart is filled with compassion for her mother, sister, and her sweet niece and nehpews, and the rest of her large and wonderful family . Emily is with us in spirit and in love - forever.

Gail, Julie and family:
Please know that you have the support of Trish and I during this most difficult time. I will always think of that beautiful little blonde haired girl that always walked on her tippy toes everywhere she went. Emily was a very big part of Trish's early childhood as they both were about the only girls in the neighborhood. I will forever hear in my memory their sweet little voices as they would stand on the curb and yell to you or I, "I want to be crossed" (across the street to each other's home to either play or come home). Although you moved away in their early childhood, Emily and Trish remained friends and they kept in contact with each other as near as this past Christmas. We know Emily is dancing and singing with the angels and resting in peace. Please keep those memories that you have of her near to your heart so you may find comfort until you are together again. You are in our thoughts and prayers. God bless!  🙏💔

Gail, Jerry and Julie may you be comforted in knowing sweet Em is at peace dancing, laughing and watching over all of us especially Vivian and Cameron. 
I will miss our daily conversations and her wonderful sense of humor. We had become good friends in the last few years. She always joked that she felt weird calling me “Aunt Sarah “ because she felt we were too close in age (she often joked math wasn’t her strong suit 😁) but, she never ended a conversation without saying I love you. That said it all for me. I will miss her so much. I know we’ll meet again and I know she’ll always be close by her uncle Mike and “Aunt Sarah “.  I loved her so very much. 

This was inside one of many concerts we saw in the summertime. We were usually holding hands and smiling like this. I will so greatly miss her beautiful humor. All her jokes and little sayings made me smile and laugh. Nothing but love now. ❤️

This is Emily at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. She enjoyed all the things we did in New Orleans, including the Audubon Zoo, Aquarium and Butterfly Garden. She often gave me this same beautiful, wry smile when I took her picture. Or, too many pictures.

On behalf of my family, we are saddened to learn of your passing. May  god hold you in his arms, give you peace, eternal rest , in his kingdom. You will be missed. Until we will meet again,  we all share in his grace,  Emily rest easy, and we await to see you again.

Here we are standing in the Pacific Ocean, somewhere in or near Malibu. It was a bit of a cliche, sight seeing in Malibu but the ocean felt wonderful on your feet and it was such a beautiful day. Emily was so silly and joyful playing in the waves. One of the best memories of my life.

Traveling to Los Angeles, she made my first time full of amazing memories. Emily was definitely the tour guide as she’d been several times before. This was a street fair in or near Hermosa Beach. We had a great time just walking around. 

This was taken near Tahquamenon falls in the UP as part of our summer Lake Michigan tour (traveling through Chicago, IL, Door County, WI and the full Upper Peninsula of Michigan). We saw landmarks, concerts and camped in State Parks under the stars. Perfect weather and wonderful memories. I’ll never forget.

Emily was such a sweet and tender spirit. Her talent in creating beautiful art  was remarkable. and special. 

  She was well-liked and respected in every one of her careers. She will be missed by her family and her friends.

Our hearts go out to Gail,  Jerry, Julie, and the Buchan family.  May you find peace in knowing that Emily is that brilliant star that shines in the night sky. She is the angel that washes the sky with sunrises and sunsets.  She  is free from the shakels of earth; free from pain; free to soar and rest in the arms of God.  She is our angel.
