When Allen and I heard of Greg's passing,  we were shocked.  Greg was so full of life and energy.  The world lost a very kind and genuinely good man.  I remember when several of us had a Dale Carnegie class together.  I remember thinking, why does Greg need this, he could teach the class.   Our hearts go out to his family at this impossible time.

I have heard of Greg’s loss few days ago from my aunt Linda. I will never forget his kindness when I came the first time to Michigan from Italy to visit my aunt. It was the summer of 1997 and I will alway keep the memory of a day that I spent with him visiting the Ford Design Centre. He was very proud of it and I felt privileged. And the visit to the University of Michigan stadium. I came back on Christmas 1999 with my mum and we went together with Gilda and Linda for a visit to Chicago. Few days later we went to Vicki and Larry’s house in North Michigan. Greg drove his beautiful Lincoln  all the way in both cases and I still hear him singing and keeping the tempo with his finger on the steering wheel. Last I saw him was last October and once again, together with Gilda, Vicki and Larry, he took me around, this time to the casino in downtown Detroit. A lot of memories are crossing my mind. You will be missed Greg ! Ciao, Emiliano 

I was absolutely in Schock !! when Larry (Turk) called and told me of the tragic news. I also remember meeting him in the early days at Ford Design when he was driving that beautiful  triple black Torino. 

Though we didn't actually work often in the same studio he was always fun to talk with,,,especially Design which he was very passionate about. He was also always willing to lend a hand in any emergency situation as well !

Great that he took on the role of the man that would keep the retired Design folks tied together with all the emails. My computer screen doesn't seem complete anymore without his emails showing up.

Everything that Is said in the memories is so very true. It was a great pleasure to work with Greg and we kept in touch when I retired. He would send me  messages to keep me well informed about what was happening with the Ford retirees and downstate.. We (Cecil & Mary Ellen) consider Greg to be a very good friend and we will miss his messages and thoughts greatly. Our condolences to Gilda and all of Greg's family.

I always loved seeing Greg and Gilda when we would have get togethers at Uncle Larry and Aunt Vicki’s House. Greg was always so kind and funny. My dad Chris would take us to visit Greg when we were at Ford design center and he loved showing us around. Such a sweet man and will be missed dearly.  Love and prayers for the family during this difficult time. 

If you knew Greg, you knew he didn't sit idle for very long. He was involved in so much,Ford Softball,racquetball,bowling,golf and even redesinging all the cars on the road! It wasn't unusaual for Greg to reach out to Bill Ford Jr. to give styling advice. He would ask me  what are you building , can I help? Later he might ask "so are we playing cards this weekend ?" Are we going to the Ford retirement breakfast Wednesday?' "Are you and Vicky going to lunch at L Georges?' Going to Canada you could count on him to play country music or sing tunes all the way! Gilda would say Greg turn the radio  DOWN ! Greg was more  than just a friend he was our brother-in law, and above all he was our Best Man at our wedding. Without Greg and Gilda,Vicky and I would've never met. For that I'm  eternally greatful! Greg my friend, weare going to miss you!! Gilda I hope you know that we are always here for you!! LOVE YOU


One of the last times I saw Greg was in 2013, New Years Eve. My son Thomas and I drove to Detroit to watch the Winter Classic between our Leafs and his Red Wings. He invited us over for breakfast on New Years Eve morning and as always the topic of discussion when we got together was hockey, specifically how both of our teams were doing. Detroit (Greg's team) always had a hard-working well running team that won a few Stanley Cups, while the Leafs (my team) were always giving us hope for better things, but had floundered for the most part.

One of the topics that came up and in fact Greg had told me he had advocated for was that the Red Wings had never honored Red Kelly with a Red Kelly night and the retiring of his sweater (we Canadians call it a sweater, not a jersey).  In fact, Greg showed me a letter he had written to the Detroit Free Press saying just that, that Red Wings need to do the right thing and honour Red Kelly. In February of 2019, the Red Wings finally did retire Kelly's sweater and I believe it was due to people like Greg who made sure that Kelly's contributions to the great Red Wings teams did not go unrecognized.

On behalf of my wife Carmela, Nella and Vince along with myself Nick, I wish to extend my sincere condolences to Gilda and her children on the passing of Greg.  

I worked with Greg many years at Ford Design center. He was one of the best. When I was in England working for Ford, Greg and Gilda came to visit, We spent a couple of days in London and had a great meal at a Italian restaurant that Greg sniffed out.  Gilda, I am so sorry for your loss, Greg is a personal loss for Irene and I as well.  

It must have been an angel who suggested to me today to send a note to a man who showed me kindness and put a smile on my face when we worked together.   I misread the angel and realize that while I can no longer connect, I can offer words of comfort to his family and friends.  I want them to know that I will try to follow his example to practice kindness and put a smile on people's faces.

Gilda and family, you all have Joyce & my deepest condolences on the passing of Greg.  I was not aware Greg was in the hospital and when I learned of his passing it hit me as a ton of bricks.  Greg via email and Ford Mafia picnics kept me up to date on our Ford cohorts.  Greg always had a choice comment that kept me grounded   at work.  We had so many things in common and openly were willing to share with each other.  There will now be a very empty spot in my heart knowing Greg is not physically with us, however, his spirit shall remain!  May God Bless you and your family!

My heartfelt condolences go out to his family. I’m so sorry to hear this. I worked with Greg at Ford many years ago. What a respectful man and so nice to work with. Always a snappy dresser too. He will be sadly missed. I hope the family can find many good memories to help them through this tough time.

I left the Ford Design Center over 30 years ago but Greg was one of the people I carry fond memories of.  At the time Greg drove a black & gold Trans-Am that no matter the weather was always showroom clean-in and out!  How he did that as well as volunteering and always helping others showed the energy and care he had for everyone in our Design Center
  At that time Greg, Bud Magaldi, Doug Gaffka, Lou Marchetti, Dick Furnier and I all worked together as part of one big Ford Family.  Greg has left far too soon but will be kept in memories by all who knew him.

Greg was a vibrant guy who made a difference everywhere he went because he was there to help.  We were all lucky to know him.

We’re going to miss the phone calls and emails, the trips to the casinos, our Florida vacations together, the late night coffee and lemon desserts, all the political conversations but most of all the guy called Greg.  Mr. Maize and Blue, Mr. Mustang and Mr. “don’t go I cried “.  So many memories ❤️So many laughs together. Not including our 50 years of friendship and working together at Ford Motor in the Design Center.  Greg was like a brother to me.  Someone always there to talk and listen.  Going to miss that guy.

Greg was the glue that held the Design Center retirees together, by organizing the monthly breakfasts and summer Mafia picnics.  He already is greatly missed.  Sincere condolences to his family.

I am still processing the loss of a very special person. Greg was one of my closest friends and one that I looked to not only for advice but just getting together over breakfast and discussing current events. Greg always had time for his friends and was always willing to lend a hand in time of need. I looked forward to him calling after a Michigan game, win or loss. These games will never be the same from this point on. 
Greg was one of the first modelers I met after hiring into Ford 42 years ago. He was eager to show me around and explain how to model a surface. I was fortunate to have his expertise and leadership throughout my career and he never missed a chance to leave a sketch on my desk as to how I could make the design better!
He will be missed Beyond belief.

I am just heartbroken.  I haven’t seen Mr. Arceri in a few years but whenever I did he always had a big smile and a big hug and great conversation.  He was a great cousin of my mom Nadine and he will be truly missed.  Prayers for Mrs. Arceri from our family.

Our Condolences go out to Gilda, her sons, and all other family members, and friends, of which Greg had many. He was a great husband, father, Grandfather, and an amazing friend, It is truly an honor to call him a best friend, and a colleague, with a 54 year history, he was very instrumental in the many Ford programs we had an opportunity to work on together, very Talented, and highly respected as a Modeling Manager, with great skills as a modeler. also very devoted to his team.
He and Gilda, were always fun to be with, they made us laugh a lot and always asked about our family, Greg and I always discussed  design, while Gilda and Mary Ellen , discussed family and friends. We are very sad that we will no longer have Greg in our lives, but we will never forget him as he was one of the great ones.

With Greg’s passing I’ve lost A friend of close to sixty years.  He truly was there for me if I needed help.  Those that knew him well knew that Greg had leadership qualities.  When something needed to be organized his was the first name mentioned.  I don’t think l’ll ever be able to watch another U of M sports  event without feeling the empty seat next to me.  While time will go on; I feel that with those who loved and respected Greg, time has all too abruptly stopped.  It will be quite some time before his family and friends will go on, absent his presence.  We’ve all lost a once in a lifetime friend . My last 90 minute conversation with him on March 16th.  We were going to pick up our new Edge later that day. 
He was talking about how he was getting a new  car.  I said "are you getting another Lincoln?" He surprised me with  his reply.  And went on to say he was getting  a Ford Fusion, he liked the style of the 2020, he said it has the same wheel base as his Lincoln. I said well you should notice a difference in gas mileage, he said yes, but not too much. But he was debating on the color. WHAT??? Is there any color for you other than Black??? He went on to say  he had a blue Plymouth which I remembered.  A rose-colored Galaxy 500.  (I remembered that)  A red Pontiac??? I dont remember that one. And I said,  but  Greg youre 79 and for 60+ years the majority of your cars were black.  He agreed. So why not black now?  It only comes in Red, White or Blue.  Oh, that's your dilemma as I laughed. He replied that it won't be white , so Red or Blue.  I said, either would be great Greg because you always take great care of your vehicles. He then asked about Addie, Trev and Kristen.  His love for the state of North Carolina  and how he had a chance to live there but didn't.  A story he told me times before but it was a great,  memorable tale. Then asked about Ash a.nd her baby and how he hoped her job offer in North Carolina came to be.  Inquired about Alan's work and we talked about Ron, Gary and updates on the grandkids. Said he had spoken to Larry  a few days before.  It was a routine weekly/bi-weekly call. But always  a pleasant,  informative call that always ended with "Love you " and the sentiment was returned. I never thought that would be my last, mutual (audible ) Love you. I will always say it, but now I won't hear it replied back to me. Dad, Mom, Patty, Nicole, Jason,  Brittney and now Greg. I take comfort knowing  someday we'll be together again. Love you....Lotts 💖

Greg was a friend to anyone he met.  He loved to talk (a lot)  about everything.   He loved his family more than words can describe.  He just simply loved life.   He was very loyal to those who knew him.  I had the pleasure to sell Greg and Gilda their cars for many years now.   I can tell you they are not just customers they are like family.  I saw Greg at least once a week for many years now and I will miss him very much.  My condolences to his entire family.

For many years Greg was part of a group of Ford employees that played racquetball after work. I started playing with them about 10 years ago. Socializing after playing became more important as time went by. Greg had lived an interesting and successful life. He talked about growing up, his time in the army, about his family, especially what a great cook his wife was and about his career at Ford as a clay modeler and later as a manager. He told great stories and was fun to talk with. We argued about politics but always remained friends. I am sad to think that I will not talk with him again and sorry for the many other people I know that miss him as well.


So many Memories! Greg has always been there for me, from my teens until today (50 years). A great life long  best friend. You will be missed. Love & Peace to Gilda and the kids. Love always. Tommy
