On August 17, 1951, Jeanette was united in marriage to Marlyn Staschke, who preceded her in death. She received her nursing diploma from Battle Creek in 1951 and later earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Madonna University in 1979. Jeanette dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a registered nurse at Mt. Carmel Hospital.
Faith was the cornerstone of Jeanette’s life. A devoted and longtime member of Evergreen Lutheran Church in Detroit, she was known as a faithful prayer warrior—always lifting up her family, friends, and those in need in prayer.
Jeanette had many passions. She enjoyed playing the piano, reading and writing, sewing, and gardening. But most of all, she loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith through her seven children: Brooke (Jack) Kozak, Christy Swartz, Abby Staschke, Wendy (Phillip) Kamrath, John (Peggy) Staschke, Thomas Staschke, and Kimber (Kevin) Haynes; 20 grandchildren: Christopher (Lauren), Jennifer (Kyle), Megan (Alex), Rachel (Aaron), Emma, Sarah, Stephanie (David), Emily (Dennis), Amy (Joel), Laura (Scott), Hannah (Justin), Andrew (Melissa), Amanda (Matthew), Audrey (Brett), Evan (Sara), Matthew, Mary, Michael, and Paul; and 31 great-grandchildren—with a set of twins on the way.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanette is preceded in death by her beloved son-in-law Phillip, grandson Elijah, and siblings Joan, Margaret, Marian, Elizabeth, Sara, William, Dianne, Dennis, and Daniel.
Jeanette’s life was a testament to faith, compassion, and devotion. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
