

Jenine Koch-Gregory, born on February 8, 1954 in Long Beach, CA, loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, died of cancer on September 15, 2012, in her home in Livonia at the age of 58. When she was 8 months, her family moved back to their home state of Hawaii. When Jenine was 10, her family moved to Okinawa, Japan, where her father managed the Meadow Gold Diary Plant for Beatrice Foods. She completed grade 5 through 11 on the island, attending Kubasaki High School. In 1972, the family moved to Seoul, Korea, where she graduated high school from Seoul Foreign School. Jenine then attended Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, IN, where she met her first husband, Kevin Koch. The couple married in 1976 in Hawaii, and moved to Ft. Wayne, IN, where Jenine completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at Indiana University. The couple moved to Livonia in 1979, at which time Jenine began working as a case manager at Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit. In 1991, she joined GENEX Services, where she was a Case Manager Supervisor. In 1995, she married Randall Gregory. In 1999, she joined Brown Rehabilitation Review in Southfield, where she worked as a Vocational Case Manager. Jenine was a treasure to her family, friends, and community. She greatly enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with her children. Her willingness to do things for others far exceeded any expectation. Jenine is survived by her children, Brett (Tiara) Koch of Henderson, NV; Katharine Koch of Raleigh, NC; Kyle Gregory of Livonia; mother Janice M. Unger of Kailua-Kona, HI; sister, Stephanie Unger (Em von Lanken) Amherst, NY; and brothers Keith Unger (Cynda) of Kailua-Kona, HI; Thomas M. Unger (Patricia) of Boise, ID; Brian Unger (Yvonne) of Montebello, CA and Scott Unger (Karen) of Kailua-Kona, HI; granddaughter, Brinley Koch and step-children Michelle (Rob) LePla, Goodrich, MI, and Adam Gregory of Las Vegas, NV. The memorial visitation will be Saturday, September 22, 2012, from 12 p.m. until the memorial service at 3 p.m. at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested in Jenine’s name to the Melanoma Research Foundation or family wishes, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
