Joseph Michael Naujokas

Joseph Michael Naujokas, age 75, of Livonia, Michigan, passed away on May 23, 2024. He was born on May 11, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan. Joseph pursued higher education at Lawrence Tech while working in the automotive industry. After earning his degree, he was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country with honor. After his active service, he resumed his career as an Automotive Engineer and he continued to serve as a reserve officer in the Navy.

Joseph found solace and community in his faith; his service as an usher began as a teenager in Detroit and continued through the last 40 years as an usher at St. Aidan's Church in Livonia. He was a devoted family man, cherishing moments with his wife Nancy, children Joseph, Steven (Brittnee), David (Katie), James (Casandra), and his beloved grandchildren Ethan, Lukas, Raymond, Elaina, and Vincent. He was a brother to Robert and Gerald and an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He combined his love of church and family by coaching his sons at CYO softball. He also played softball and later coached the church softball team for the remainder of his life. He took up Judo while in the Navy and shared it with his sons. Joseph also enjoyed fishing, bowling and golf for many years. He spent a lot of his retirement on the golf course and worked as a ranger. He was a huge Detroit sports fan - Lions, Tigers, Pistons and Red Wings.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus and retreat chairman for St Paul of the Cross. He was a volunteer Spree worker and donated a substantial amount of time and money to many charities.

His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 4-8pm with a Rosary at 7pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home. A Funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 9:30am (in state 9:00am) at St. Aidan Catholic Church Livonia.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Aidan's Church, St Paul of the Cross or Knights of Columbus in memory of Joseph Naujokas.
