Katherine was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on May 28, 1933. She graduated from Western Michigan University in 1955 with a Bachelor of Arts. She met her husband, Richard R. Hough at WMU. They wed on July 16, 1955 and were married for 63 years.
Before her oldest son was born, Katherine was an elementary school art teacher in Wyandotte, Michigan. She is survived by three sons: Steven, and his wife Susan; James, and his wife Teri; and Daniel, and his wife Julie. Katherine has five grandchildren: Stephanie, Lucy, Jeffery, Henry, and Ruby. Katherine is preceded in death by her husband Richard R. Hough.
She loved the Lord and was a devout Christian, as well as a member and volunteer of Ward Presbyterian Church since the early 1960s.
