"They are laughing in heaven today. Kevin Clark earned his angel wings in the early hours of May 5, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 26, 1973 in Cumberland, MD to Nelson and Milli, Kevin was a gentle giant. He is known for his great sense of humor and for his warm and caring heart. Kevin was a Life Scout in Boy Scouts of America in Springfield, Missouri. Kevin graduated from UNLV and went on to law school at Pepperdine School of Law in Malibu, California where he headed a Moot Court for the school and was a published author. He married Gina Alfieri in 1999 and produced three wonderful, talented sons: Paul age 15, Nicolas age 13, and Andrew age 10, all of whom he adored. Everyone who knows him sees a carbon copy of Kevin in Nicolas who could be his twin. Kevin and Gina were super parents and gave their children so many memories over the years. Paul remembers that, even though he battled this disease, he never failed to try to lead an active life with his family and friends. He went to work every day, never complaining, and continued to participate in his sons’ lives. He worked as a volunteer baseball coach at Livonia Parks and Recreation and was an active parent volunteer with his sons as President and member of the board of directors of the Livonia Hockey Association. Kevin worked hard within the hockey world providing music for many of the games and being a scorekeeper even on his worst days. He loved his hockey family and was known for his keen sense of humor. One of Kevin’s pleasures was his music as he enjoyed writing and playing with his music buddies as they played “gigs” around Las Vegas. During his last year of high school, he and his lab partner used colored water in one of their lab experiments and the teacher thought they had peed in the bottle and they received a three day suspension. This happened while his parents were out of town and his 75 year old grandmother had to go to meet with the principal to get him re-admitted to school before they got home! Boy, were they angry but, later, laughed like crazy! Whether he was running after the livestock at the family ranch in Oregon or relaxing at the family weekend place at Long Lake, Kevin lived life to the fullest. Beside his parents, wife and children, he leaves behind a brother, Jason, his wife, Shelli and their three sons Daniel (deceased), Matthew and Joshua of Las Vegas, daughters Megan of Orlando and Mandy of Reno. His other immediate family are Irene and Ty Lemley of Las Vegas, their two daughters Yvette and Michelle, his Godson Vance Lemley Orlando of Las Vegas, Uncle Jim and Aunt Linda Hertz of Pittsburgh and their daughter, Carla, of Sarasota, and sons Scott and Eric all of Pittsburgh. He is also survived by so many aunts, uncles and cousins. Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents: Virgil and Marie Clark of Burnt Woods, Oregon, Rita and Al Hertz of Deltona, Florida, his uncle Norman of Hillsboro, Oregon. Also surviving Kevin are his in-laws who have been so supportive of him during these years: Paul and Joanne Alfieri of Dearborn and their children Tina Alfieri and Jose Alfieri. Kevin was Assistant General Counsel at Wayne County Airport Authority and loved his work family so much. He will be sorely missed by all. Friends and family are invited to his viewing from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, May 8th at Harry J Will Funeral Home 37000 West Six Mile Road in Livonia. Services will be at 10 a.m, on Tuesday, May 9th at St Edith Catholic Church at 15089 Newburgh in Livonia. Cremation interment will be at St. Hedwig Mausoleum at a private family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an education trust fund for his childrens’ college education in care of Gina Clark at Citizens bank at 37307 W. Six Mile in Livonia, to cancer research in his honor, or to a charity of your choice.
