Louise Allam was born 99 years ago to Shaker and Margaret (Ossea) Allam on March 27, 1912 in Appalacia, Viginia. Until her passing, she lived close to her youngest sister, Manilla Buszka.
Helping with family chores as a child, she learned to sew, crochet and knit, to fulfill family needs, all talents that became refined over the years. During her high school years, she workded in her father's mercantile store doing the bookkeeping. When the family moved to Detroit, Louise together with her single brother Joe, operated a grocery store. Her skills progressed into a career with the J. L. Hudson Company Accounting Department. Louise was proud work at the downtown location, retiring twenty-five years later.
With her eldest sister, she traveled to the Middle Eastern countries, seeing the homeland of their parents. Her greatest joy in life was to share with her siblings' families. It can truly be said that she has touched so many lives. The Allam family expanded over the decades, earning her the titles of aunt to great-great aunt for about a hundred nieces and nephews.
