September 20,1931 in Laurium, Michigan. Mae was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ala, Sr. and daughter Lillian Sheridan. She is survived by her six other children: Linda (Paul) Sapienza, Art (Gail) Ala, Patty (Larry) Chappell, Catherine Peace, Robert Ala, Jr., and Tina (Geoff) Baugher. She enjoyed being Grandma to her sixteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mae enjoyed spending time with family, visiting her hometown of Laurium in the U.P. (Keweenaw Peninsula), and going to gospel concerts.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 15, from 1pm-8pm, at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, Livonia. A funeral service will occur on Tuesday, April 16, at 11am with visiting beginning at 10am, also at the funeral home.
