Margaret D. Schuman (nee Schroeder), age 90, of Livonia, Michigan (formerly of Redford) passed away on Friday July 12, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Gerald. Loving mother of Janet (Gary) Vorhes and Jeff (Kim Warden) Schuman. Dear grandmother of Dawn (Craig) Dugan, Lisa (Tom) Miles, Lauren (Garret) Johnson, Eric Schuman, Garrett Warden and Hilary Schuman. Proud great grandmother of Charlotte, Ryan, Bennett, Luna, Wick and Reese. Dearest sister of Carol (Chuck) Quandt and the late Joan (Pete) VanNest. Beloved aunt of Carl (Lorraine) Quandt and cherished aunt and godmother of Christa Quandt.
Margaret was born, the oldest of three daughters to Emil and Salome (nee Augst) Schroeder. She graduated from Dearborn’s Fordson High School in 1947 and Henry Ford School of Nursing as a registered nurse in 1950. During her career she worked for Visiting Nurse Association, in a private practice while raising her family and Oakwood Hospital following her husband’s death in 1968. Margaret retired from nursing in March 1996. Her smile, empathy, courage and feistiness was an inspiration to many and will be greatly missed.
A visitation will take place at Christ Our Savior Church in Livonia at 10am until time of service at 11:30am on Saturday July 20, 2019. A luncheon to follow after procession to Glen Eden Cemetery at Mitchell's Fish Market at 17600 Haggerty Rd, Livonia, MI 48152.
