She was the loving wife of Vaughn for 50 wonderful years. Beloved mother of Brian (Rachel). Proud grandma of Isla and Ronan. Cherished daughter of Elaine Kelly. Dear sister of Bill (Tammy) Kelly. She will be deeply missed by her niece, Dawn.
Marie was preceded in passing by her father, William Kelly.
Marie spent her career as a registered nurse and also worked in the military medical field. Her passion was helping those around her, whether that was her family, friends, or even a stranger at the grocery store. She was a public servant who dedicated over two decades traveling with her husband for the United States Air Force.
Marie enjoyed stained glass cutting, traveling the world, and all things Disney. She had a unique sense of humor and loved comedies. She was an active member of her community, frequently volunteering at St Vincent DePaul, the Livonia Senior Center, and her parish, St Aidan Catholic Church. In retirement, Marie loved spending time at their home on Lake Huron. During these precious moments, you would find Marie on the beach listening to the waves and collecting Pudding Stones. Near and dear to her heart was her family, especially her grandchildren. They were her world. Marie valued time with them, whether that meant taking a trip, participating as a Scout Grandma, or spoiling them with a sweet treat. She will be deeply missed and was loved by all.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, February 23, from 9:00 am to 9:30 am at St Aidan Catholic Church, 17500 Farmington Rd, Livonia, MI 48152, followed by a memorial mass beginning at 9:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the Cheboygan County Humane Society.
