Marilyn Leona Unger, age 93 of Dearborn, passed away on June 21, 2023. Marilyn was born to Stanley and Leona Tuttle on January 12, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan. She is survived by children Mike (Andie), Larry, Heidi (John) Dowd, and Laurie (Barry) Hawver; grandchildren Sarah (Glenn) Davis, Deborah (Jake) Jestadt, Liz (JR) Radcliffe, Daniel (Alli), Claire, Paul, Evan, Luke, and Ryan, as well as eight great-grandchildren. She will be especially missed by her twin sister, Marjorie Casey.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Ernest, and sisters, Audrey Sherratt and Eileen Spisak.
During her life, Marilyn had a strong faith and was passionate about volunteering at St. Stephen Lutheran Church and Lutheran High School West. She also enjoyed activities with her family, loved to travel, enjoyed nature, and loved to sing and play the piano. She was also involved with the Girl Scouts and enjoyed working at Graham’s Funeral Home for many years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lutheran High School Westland.
A visitation for Marilyn will be held Wednesday, July 5, from 4-8pm at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48152. Marilyn will lie in state Thursday, July 6, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Detroit, at 10 am with a funeral service following at 11 am. She will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Lutheran Cemetery.
