Michael Robert Wilson, age 66, of Southfield, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 27, 1959, in Howell, Michigan, Michael grew up with a strong work ethic, a deep love for family, and an appreciation for the simple joys in life.
On a blind date that would forever change his life, Michael met the love of his life, Ann. The two were married on May 25, 1985, and together shared nearly four decades of devotion, partnership, and countless cherished memories. Their bond was the foundation of their family, and Michael was happiest when spending time with Ann and the people he loved.
Michael was a proud and dedicated businessman. For many years, he owned and operated Canton Top Soil Inc., where he built not only a successful company but also lasting relationships within the community. He retired in 2024, grateful for the years of hard work and the people he met along the way.
At heart, Michael was a true tinkerer. He loved working on cars and took great pride in his 1963 and 1964 Falcons—vehicles he enjoyed restoring, maintaining, and taking out for a drive whenever he could. He also loved browsing flea markets, always on the lookout for a good deal or a hidden treasure.
Above all, Michael’s greatest joy came from his family. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather. His warm presence, big heart, and steady strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Wilson; his daughter, Ashley (Josh) Oestrich; and his treasured grandchildren, Sebastian and Jaxxon. He is also survived by his sisters, Lori Wilson and Della Shook.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Wilson.
Michael’s legacy lives on in the love he shared, the family he built, and the countless moments he created with those fortunate enough to know him.
In accordance with Michael’s wishes, cremation will take place. No public memorial services have been scheduled at this time.
