

Patrick Dewitt Ives, age 82 of White Lake, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Patrick was born April 4, 1944, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to the late Quay and Dorothy Ives.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 55 years, Kathie, the love of his life and his constant companion through every season of life. He was a loving and devoted father of Brian (Karen), Amanda (Michael) Brecht, and Jessica Adams, always offering unwavering love, guidance, and support. He cherished the time he spent creating special memories with his grandchildren, Jacob (Ashley) Morrison, Kallie Ives (engaged to Liam Decker), Lacey (Kyle) Smith, Emily Morrison (engaged to Rory Scully), Greyson Adams, Katy (Evan) Chall, Kris (Alissa) Brecht, and Carolyn (Ryan) Talaga. To his beloved great-grandchildren, Theodore and Stevie Chall, Margaret Morrison, and Jospehine and Thomas Brecht, he was lovingly known as ‘Big Papa,’ a role that brought him endless pride and joy. He also leaves behind his half-sister, Cyndy (Tom) Passotta. His legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will live on through the many lives he touched as a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished Papa.
In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in passing by his twin sister Pamella (Charlie) Shaver and his half-sister Dareen Ives.
Patrick proudly served in the Army and the Naval Reserves ahead of his career as a quality engineer at General Motors. In his free time, he loved woodworking, golfing, fishing, and spending time at his cottage. You would often find Pat riding his lawnmower and sharing his Texas tales. He had a zest for life, a big heart, and made everyone feel like family.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 21, at 1:00 pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48152, followed by visitation from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Park.
