He was the loving husband of Vicki for 49 years. Beloved father of Leland (Lindsey), Nathan (Rachael), and Veronica (Trevor). Proud grandfather of Jude, Noah, and Weston.
Patrick is survived by his sister, Mary Lee Dziedzic, and her sons, Keith (Pam), Scott (Lynne), Darren, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Melvin Dziedzic, and his parents-in-law, Edward and Margaret Evers.
Patrick will be remembered for his good Samaritan mindset, sometimes giving more of his time to others and not finishing his own projects. His friendly nature made him well known wherever he shopped. He enjoyed every outing and opted for the scenic route when he was out on the road.
Cars were Pat’s life. He loved them from the time he was a young boy, watching the neighborhood teenagers working on their hot rods, and dreaming of having his own. Pat would go to the boys’ club, where he grew his creative talent, drawing, and making model cars, only to pursue his passion with full-sized cars. Patrick found his first true love, a '68 Dodge Charger in dark blue, while he oversaw the Fleet Division for Chrysler, and it remained his favorite for the rest of his life.
In 1976, Patrick and Vicki were married in the Martha Mary Chapel in Greenfield Village. Pat was a loving husband, a gentleman, and a romantic. The brightest blessings were his children and grandchildren. His quiet sense of humor would keep everyone smiling, especially when improvising bedtime stories. He amused them while teaching them to fish, too, as it is a favorite activity of all three kids, and one of the best gifts he could have given them.
Patrick’s gift of creativity has influenced Leland, Nathan, and Veronica to enjoy cooking, create beyond paper, and not to pay someone else when you can do it yourself. Their dad passed on his love of art and music, which are prevalent in their lives today.
Patrick took classes in clay modeling for car design at Chrysler Corporation, while there were many dream car projects of his own, and he was honored to be operations coordinator for the Plymouth Prowler production from 1996 to 2000.
After Pat’s retirement in 2004, he continued to enjoy his cars, artwork, creative welding classes, and building an addition on the house.
Patrick will be remembered for his love of family and nature. He touched many hearts and will be forever loved and sorely missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48152.
