

Beloved husband of Kathleen (nee Khollman). Cherished son of the late Gustave and Mildred (Tenuta). Brother of Donna (Patrick) Coleman. Loving father of Mark (Trish), Virginia (Daniel) Roberts, Matthew (Amy), Gretchen, Catherine (Joel) Mich, Christopher, Michael (Jessica), Daniel (Alison), and Timothy (Luisa). Proud Grandfather of 12. Very special cousin and friend of Anthony (Cucci) Cairo. Dick was dearly loved by brothers and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Chicago. Dick attended St. Patrick's High School and continued his education at St. Mary’s University in Winona MN, where he received his degree as a proud member of the Class of 1961. He then served in the USMC Reserves before taking a position at the National Bank of Chicago. He then moved to the Detroit area to work at the Bank of the Commonwealth. His last position was Director of Recruiting for the Compuware Corp for 31 Years. Volunteerism played a very important part of his life as he served the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Big Brothers- Big Sisters of Detroit, The Lunch Buddies program for the Detroit Public Schools and Habitat for Humanity. He very much enjoyed being a Lector and serving on the Parish Council of Old St. Mary’s in Detroit and more recently of Guardian Angel Cathedral in Las Vegas.
His love for all Chicago Sports was legendary, he had an unwavering loyalty to the Bears, Cubs and Blackhawks. Dick never met a stranger, he was a friend to all. If you ever crossed paths with him you were never forgotten.
Visitation Dec. 1, 2022 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm with a rosary service at 7:00pm at Harry J Will Funeral Home 37000 Six Mile Road Livonia, MI. In state at 9:30am Dec. 2, 2022 at Old St. Mary’s Church (Greektown) 646 Monroe Ave Detroit, MI. Mass at 10:00am.
