Robert E. Noechel passed from this earthly life peacefully on Thursday, April 22, 2021 into the arms of the Lord, Jesus Christ. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years D.J., children, Richard (Carol) Noechel, Beth Hoffman, and Jeffrey (Maryn) Noechel, 6 grandchildren, Josh (Kate) Hechler, Ryan Noechel, Emma Noechel, Zoe Noechel, Ellie Noechel, and Maddie Noechel, three grand dogs, numerous nephews and their families along with all earthly friends and extended families.
Robert had a long career as a Michigan Bell/AT&T Telephone repair technician. He started in the CO-OP program while a Junior in High School, ending his working career as a PBX technician, 45+ years later.
Robert was a member of the Michigan National Guard, serving as a driver of a Duce and a Half, a Mess Cook as well as a distinguished Sharpshooter after which he was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist E-4.
He was an accomplished church pipe organist for several churches and was actively providing his music ministry for over 60 years.
He was very active in the Detroit Masonic community based out of the Masonic Temple in downtown Detroit for over 60 years. He became a member of Schiller Lodge #263 F&AM, following in the family footsteps. He worked through the chairs to become Worshipful Master. He received the call to accompany his eldest brother (Leonard) to the Detroit Chapter of the Knights Templar as Templar Organist, providing many years of service music. He is also a member of various Blue lodges and Northville Royal Arch lodge.
Robert volunteered at St. Mary Hospital in Livonia. He worked for Michigan Eye Center in Canton as a courtesy shuttle driver for many years.
Robert loved gathering with family and friends in social settings. As a lifelong Detroit resident, he could tell you exactly where a building was located simply by providing him the street name and address. This skill also enabled him to know the best coffee and pie joints within the city.

Memorial funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church - Livonia, Michigan.
