Susan L. Russell

Born on December 21, 1956, in Detroit, Sue was the beloved daughter of Thomas and Patricia Shaw. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, John N. Russell.

Sue is survived by her identical twin sister, Sharon Progar, and her younger sister, Sally (Kevin) Czarniecki. She was a cherished aunt to Emily Czarniecki, Sara Lehnis, Cindy Richter, and Michael (Katie) Lehnis, and a proud great-aunt to Jackson and Cooper Lehnis and Zoe and Maya Richter. She is also lovingly remembered by her extended family of friends, Kim (Robert “Bob”) Molloy and their children Casey (Dan) Binzel, Donald (Michelle) Molloy, and Kelley (Gabbey) MacKinnon who over the years became not just dear friends, but truly family, embraced as if they were her own.

Sue was a devoted and valued team member of Southfield Providence Radiology for nearly 49 years. She took great pride in her work and the relationships she built over the years.

Sue especially loved spending time at Houghton Lake over the past 50 years, where her cottage was a treasured second home. There, she made countless memories with family and friends.

Sue will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place Friday, March 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., also at the funeral home.
