Thaddeus "Ted" Sherman was born on June 13, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Joseph and Lillian Sherman. Ted was raised on his family's farm in Sterling, Michigan (by Standish). During his teenage years he took up boxing and became a Golden Glove Boxing Champion.
Ted returned to Metro Detroit and settled in Dearborn Heights with his wife Mary Ann to raise their family. A generous, kind man he was known as the "Mayor" of Lawrence Street and a "Mr. Fix-it". Friends, family and neighbors knew they could always count on Ted to help fix or repair anything that may need it. Ted and Mary Ann lived in Dearborn Heights for over 30 years for before moving to Northville.
A hard working man Ted was the past co-owner of Paisano’s Pizza and Paisano’s Casual Dining in Dearborn for 30 years where he loved to interact and care for his customers. He was also a dedicated employee of General Motors and retired after 30 years of service.
In his free time Ted was an avid collector. His impressive coin and baseball and hockey card collections were something to be admired. He had a love for all sports memorabilia and enjoyed sharing this passion with his sons. Above all else Ted was a family man. Following his retirement he devoted his time to his family, particular his grandchildren who called him Papa. He could often be found assuming the role of chauffer for them, driving them to and from school, various activities or around town for a simple ride. He also loved teaching them to garden, bestowing upon them the knowledge he learned growing up on the farm.
Thaddeus was the most loving husband of Mary Ann. Cherished father of Joseph (Julie) and Jeffrey (Lisa). Treasured Papa of Michael, Olivia, Joseph, William, Sara, Lily and Anthony. Dear brother of Virginia, Joann, Diane, Nancy and Robert (Julie) and brother-in-law of Donald (Charlene) Yaquinto, Judy Yaquinto and Frank (Maureen) Yaquinto. Beloved son of the late Joe and Lillian Sherman and son-in-law of the late Frank and Ann Yaquinto. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.
