So Sorry to hear of Tom Passing. I worked with Tom at Ford's Research Lab (Sci Lab) for 30 years. He will be missed. You have my deepest Condolences. 

So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. Tom was such a nice, positive man. He talked about his family always during his haircuts at the Ford barbershop. I will miss our conversations!!!! My condolences to Carol and his sons.

A wonderful man that made every day brighter than the last. The smiles and laughter that he gave me as a child are one of the best gifts I ever received. The memories on a wooden jungle gym, the smiles and adventures we shared up and down the mitten coastline. Precious memories that will always be in my heart. I love you.

Forty years of friendship.  Anachem meetings, camping, cocktails, cognac in the small hours of the morning.  Talking chemistry, talking mustangs, talking key lime versus lemon meringue pies.  A smart, interesting and involved man, a man comfortable in his own skin and a joy to know.  We have lost one of the good guys, but we are all richer for having known him.  Our deepest sympathy to Carol, Jeff, Brian and family, and here's hoping Heaven has a great dessert table.

Carol, Jeff and Brian I’m so sorry for the loss of your loving husband and father.  He loved you very much.   I have so many fond and funny memories of Tom that I will cherished.  The time we went on a camping trip and Tom brought out of the tent a tv to watch Michigan football.  He did just fine with all the teasing he received.  The Halloween party dressed as runners, go figure.  The many wonderful dinners together as couples  where our conversations were endless and lasting so long we often closed the restaurants.  Tom and I shared our love for desserts after every dinner too.
Tom I will miss your kindness,  laughter, friendship and love of life.

I have had the the pleasure and honor of working with Tom  day-by-day at Ford Research for 30 years.  During that time we had many exciting technical developments together and many, many social engagements with our wives.  Never have I met a more wonderful, cheerful, pleasant, helpful, and caring individual.  His zest for life and devotion to his family were his greatest attributes, while maintaining an incredibly successful career.  I looked forward to our  daily contact and his inspiring greeting when asked "How are you Tom?  "GREAT!"  I miss him, and extend to his family my deepest sympathy. 

I was fortunate to be a co-worker of Tom's at Ford and he was such a positive, enthusiastic person.  After he retired,  I would run into Tom and Carol out running errands together in our neighborhood.  It was always a pleasure to see them and witness their love for each other.  Deepest condolences to the family.  

Words will never convey the sadness we feel for losing such a special friend.   Tom was one of the most caring individual who would step up and help  anyone any time.   His devotion to his wife Carol was one that many of us envied and loved him for.   On snowy days, such as today, he would gladly drive his wife to work or to meet her friends for lunch.  
 
We will never be able to watch a U of M game without thinking of Tom.   We've had many dinners dates with Tom and Carol and we never ran out of conversation.  Love them both dearly.  He most certainly will be missed.   Love,  Nancy and Bob

I was lucky to work with Tom at Ford Research for a number of years.  He was always cheerful and ready to help.  He seemed to have every instrument and part I needed for my work (and knew how to use them!), and was happy to share with others.  He was a friend as well as co-worker and is missed.

What great times we had. We laughed, and laughed, and laughed.

With Tom I shared being welcomed into the Chopko family; late pinochle nights with table hockey breaks mixed in; hot New England  4th of Julys with excursions to Cape Cod and adventures into dead man’s curve.  I shared an appreciation of good food with occasional shots of tequila mixed in.  With Tom I shared family and friendship, and for this I am thankful.

Tom will certainly be missed. 

I worked with him at Ford Motor Research.  He was an excellent scientist and had the unique strengths of being friendly, calm, and meticulous when explaining and interpreting data.

It was a joy to work with him.

I am praying for comfort to all the family and friends who will dearly miss Tom.

I have many fond memories of Tom at Ford. I would go to his office to chat or ask him a question. I would begin with, Hi Tom, how ya doin? He always replied "Fantastic!" He was one of the truly good guys at Ford and I will miss him.
