My brother,Sam Coleman, and I had the honor of attending the St. Edith RCIA program, Class of 2000 with Vern.  Our class was asked, "What do you love to be called?"  Vern's answer was simply "Vern".  Thereafter, whenever Vern would enter the room, we all would greet him with "Hi, Vern!"  I'll never forget Vern's profound contributions to these classes.  I'm so happy we were able to share this journey with Vern, an inspiration to all.  Our prayers and heartfelt sympathy are with Vern's beautiful family.

Dear Lori And Family- My heart aches for all of you as I hear of Vern's Passing!  His life here on Earth was an amazing example of the heart of Jesus; so authentic, loving and caring! He left an indelible mark on my own heart and soul and I have always held him, you Lori and your children close at heart here in Connecticut.  There are some people you meet in life who affect you so deeply that you are forever changed.  Vern was one of those people for me.  He had a way of validating people that made them better.  His positivity, enthusiasm and his fervor for the Lord were contagious!  I am so greatly saddened for the world's loss but so happy for him and for Heaven's gain.  His life will continue to have a ripple effect here for all of time and I know he watches over you lovingly and with pride from his new heavenly home.  Of course he will also always have a home in your hearts and in mine as well.  Please know that my heart and my prayers are with you at this difficult time.  Vern, you are my brother in Christ! I am so sorry to hear about Vern. I worked with him at JCI.

I was working in a cavernous office at JCI, and a friendly co-worker peeked his head in at me and said..."Hey, Joe...I'm Vern Stubbe." That was the first time that I met Vern and we became immediate friends. We stayed in touch these some twenty years and his friendship has been a blessing in my life. He was most trustworthy, intelligent, witty and kind. We had our final chat a few weeks ago and I was able to say goodbye to a person who had a profound influence on my life. I know that God greeted you with open arms when you entered the Kingdom of heaven. Your life was well lived and you were His noble servant, Vern. I was proud to be your friend. Rest in peace, my brother. I will see you again one day. -Joe Kizner

Lori & Family,

We were saddened to hear of Vern's passing.  He approached everything that he did at full speed, especially on the softball diamond.  He was a bright and shining light and a man of integrity.  He will be missed.

Some of my earliest memories as a child include my friend Vern (at Johnson School Elementary).  Vern left a lasting imprint on my life.  Long conversations about life's goals and purpose during the high school years resonate in my mind as well as short but sweet opportunities to renew our friendship over the past 35 years when we happened to providentially cross one another's paths. Vernon was a kind, caring and strong man.

God blessed my life with the privilege of knowing Vern, he will no doubt be missed, but we both trusted and placed our hope in Christ.. We will not be disappointed.  1Thess.4:13

 I look forward to seeing my dear friend again.

Over these past few years I've gotten to know Vern on the golf course as a great friend. I looked up to the way Vern carried himself and greatly admired his kind personality and ever upbeat outlook regardless of situation. Vern will live on to me as someone I model myself after. May God bless you and your family as he welcomes Vern into his kingdom to become one of the brightest lights in heaven's community.

Linda I was so sorry to hear about Vern he was a wonder man. When I talked to him at the Clevenger reunion's we would start talking about our faith. I Loved talking to him about  how much he Loved our Lord Jesus Christ. You and all his family will be in my prayers. God Bless You, Love You

Vern was always great with the kids and nice to all the parents.  Olivia enjoyed playing for him.  What a great christian family man.

It was evident in everything Vern did that he lived his life with God and family as his priorities.  Michael looked forward to sitting with him at the boys basketball games to talk about the game a little but about their shared faith more.  Lori, we are lifting you and the kids up in prayer in the coming days.  May God comfort you on earth as he welcomes Vern to his heavenly home.

Vern was a good man, who gave of himself very generously.  A man of faith, he carried himself as God calls us all to do.  Vern was a great example of strength to those of us who knew him.  I am sorry that he is no longer with us.

He was an amazing person and truly a favorite sorority sister husband Lori. He had a gift for making everyone feel special and truly has a kind soul which shall live on eternally. RIP Vern and prayers for the family.

Vern was a God centered man focused on his family. He set a great example on the values to build your life's guiding principles. I worked with him in Plymouth at JCI for several years and never forgot what a kind and valued colleague he was. My thoughts are with his family while knowing Vern is with God watching over them all.

Vern was a great guy and family man.  He will be missed here on earth, but is onward to great adventures in Heaven.

Vern was a great guy to work with (at Ford) and a true man of God.  I will definitely miss him.
