William "Billy Goat" Gerhart

William “Billy Goat” Gerhart, age 72, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026. Born on August 4, 1953, Bill lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, kindness, and the friendships he built wherever he went.

Beloved husband of Kelly Gerhart. Loving father of Joshua (Deanna Hermez) Gerhart and Stacey Hearn. Cherished brother of Mary Ann (Richard), Marilyn (Richard), Clifford (Donna), Annie (JR), Stephen (Marie), and Kristine (Joe). Proud uncle to many loving nieces and nephews. Beloved grandfather of Evan.

Bill graduated from Robichaud High School and went on to earn his Associate’s Degree. A true master machinist, Bill was known for his incredible work ethic and ability to fix or build just about anything. Whether it was helping around the house, lending a hand to a friend, or tackling a difficult project, Bill was always someone others could count on.

In recent years, Bill found great joy working for Hype Athletics in Dearborn. He deeply cherished the friendships he formed with his coworkers and boss, and he made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know and work alongside him. Known affectionately as “Billy Goat,” Bill had an easygoing spirit and a calm, genuine personality that made people feel comfortable around him. He was simply an amazing, chill person whose presence brought laughter, comfort, and strength to so many. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

A memorial gathering will be held at Harry J Will Funeral Home on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill’s honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
