Also remembered by her surviving family in Germany, her sole surviving sister, Edel Baumgartner, nephew Ralf (Chrystal) Baumgartner, sister-in-law Heidi Knippel and nephew Peter Knippel.
Christel was very generous and proud of her family and extended family and was always their greatest fan and cheerleader with an encouraging word along the way.
One of Christel's greatest passions was her understanding and appreciation of music. She always believed that through music anything was possible and it brought her a great sense of peace and enjoyment through her many hours of rehearsing and singing in a variety of church choirs.
Christel was well-known for her joy of cooking and she loved nothing more than sharing a meal or two with friends and family. She will be fondly remembered by many friends.
Christel's story lives on in all of us and we will continue to try to make her proud. She taught us how to live well and to love fully with a generous heart.
