

London, Ontario - Mary C. VanKroonenburgh, age 90, died peacefully on March 7, 2023, at Mount Hope long term care facility in London ON. She was born on August 23, 1932 in Dominion, Nova Scotia (Cape Breton) and was the daughter of Allen McPhee and Mary Anne (McLean) McPhee. Mary graduated with a nursing degree (RNA) in Saint John New Brunswick which is where she started her career and met the love of her life, Evert VanKroonenburgh (predeceased May 8, 2013). Evert and Mary moved and settled to London ON, where they started a family and had 54 years of marriage. Mary was an avid reader who enjoyed long daily walks and attending mass. She will be praying for us all in heaven.
Mary was survived by her 2 sons: Raymond and Robert (daughter in law - Dorothy). Grandchildren include Raymond’s 4 daughters: Tanya (Zoran), Natasha (Alxer), Ashlee, Megan (George), as well as Robert’s children: Amanda (Joseph) and Ryan (Emily). Mary was also lucky enough to have 5 great grandchildren: Jaxon, Roman, Damien, Dominic and Grayson. Mary came from a large family of 15: 10 brothers and 5 sisters. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by siblings: Karl, Francie, Eddy, Joey, Elmer, Jack, Alex, Michael, Olive and Tillie. Survived by siblings: Nelson (Loraine), Eddy (Cathy), Anne (Vince) and Florence (Eddy). Predeceased by brother-in-laws, Peter (Ivey), John (Gloria) and Dick (Ruth). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and family in the Netherlands.
A funeral service will be held at St. Peters Cemetery (806 Victoria St, London, ON N5Y 4E1) at 1pm on Saturday May 13, 2023.
A celebration of life will follow at the Dutch Club (CJ Hall London, 1738 Gore Road, London ON, N5W 5L5) from 2 to 4pm.
