

After a lengthy illness, Mr. Robert Wesley Brooks, of London, passed away on Saturday, October 14th, 2006 at University Hospital, in his 82nd year. Beloved husband and best friend of Sadie (Small) (Zavitz) Brooks for almost 28 years. Loving father of Lorel Carr and fiancé Tom Harrison of Port Elgin; Paul (JoAnne) Brooks of Brisbane, Australia; Mark Brooks and friend Vickey Poole of Waubaushene; and Jan Brooks of London. Much loved grandpa of Melanie, Matthew and Jonathan Carr; Charles (Chuck) Brooks of Claresholm AB; Nicole Brooks of Brisbane, Australia; Melissa (Missy) and Rocky Baldwin of Edmonton, AB; Kyle, Krystal and Joshua Brooks of Orillia; cherished great grandpa of Austin and Lily Baldwin of Edmonton. Also survived by the children’s mother, Ruth (Attwood) Brooks of St. Thomas. Bob was born in Newmarket, ON on May 27, 1925 and was the only son of Wesley and Adele (Stephens) Brooks. Educated in Newmarket, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in WWII and was on active duty off the Newfoundland and Labrador coast. Upon discharge, he enrolled in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto. Following graduation, he practiced pharmacy in Toronto, St. Thomas and in London for several decades until his retirement. Friends may call at the Needham Funeral Chapel, 520 Dundas St., London (519-434-9141) on Wednesday, October 18th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Service from the chapel on Thursday, October 19th at 1 pm. Rev. Kenneth Taylor officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
