My condolences to his family.  I was good friends with one of his sons.  I use to call his house and remember how Mr. Alimorad use to greet me.  He was very compassionate and light hearted with me.  He made me feel like a son.  I remember once I was in a bad mood and I called his house, and once I finished off the phone with him, I was in a much better mood :).

Reading these entries I am not surprised by these comments.  Mr. Alimorad was a man that was very respectful and put his family above everything.  I remember when I first came to this country from El Salvador, and was acquainted to Samir. He helped me find a job in my profession, and connected me with many contacts for all sorts of things.  The biggest thing he did for me was for my son Abelardo.  Abelardo was hanging around with the wrong people.  He would always wore a bandana (at the time this was rebellious), and Samir recognized that this kid was up to no good.  One day he saw him causing trouble, and he went after him and straightened him out.  He was very passionate about disciplining Abelardo because he said "He is like a son to me".  My son changed his appearance and his manner shortly after.  Now he is a successful Project manager at a established firm.  When my son found out about Samir's passing, he was very upset, and it took him a long time to get over.  This is how much Samir meant to him.  Samir definitely left his mark, and we can all learn from him.

Samir had a heart of gold.  He was very smart and knew his way around anything mechanically and electronically.  I must admit, I once upset him and it was my fault.  Later down the road I had problems with my washer and dryer and was going to take a stab at repairing it myself.  Samir found out through my kids, and he drove all the way to my house to help me.  I asked him why would he choose to help me after what I did.  He explained that he was worried I might get electrocuted, and he couldn't bare to see me hurt.  I was in tears.  This man was the salt of the earth

I have known Samir for over 20 years.  He was really good to his neighbours.  I remember once he woke up at 1 am and noticed couple of people stealing my car and he went out and to catch them but they tried to get away.  He hopped in his car and pursued them.  It was because of him the police were able to catch the perpetrators in the act. He helped me many times by fixing my car and giving me technical advice when I had issues with any mechanical.  The best thing that he did for me was I had a son who was very rebellious and I couldn't control him.  One day my son was becoming very abusive towards me and Samir overheard what was going on while he was fixing his car.  He was concerned and came into my house quickly with a wrench in his hands, and straightened my son out.  From that day my son cleaned up his act and never acted out ever.  Now my son is a successful Pediatric doctor, and he told me that he owes his success to Samir.  If it wasn't for him, he would've continued in his destructive path

I can't believe that this kind man has passed away.  I just heard the news.  He use to live in my old neighbourhood.  He came to this country escaping persecution from his country. He provided for his family on his own and worked really hard.  We use to run into eachother and talk about our kids, and effective techniques on raising them. Aside from his job, he would constantly be involved in his kids lives and make sure that they stayed out of trouble.  He never took a vacation.  It was either work or his family and that was it.  I once told him that I noticed how much involved he was with his family, and he responded by saying that it is a tiring task to be involved and keep tabs on six children, but he will do everything in his power to keep them away from drugs, violence and all the negative things in life.  I thought he was over doing it, as I was very easy on my children.  I wish I took his advice and followed what he did.  I had two kids pass away from overdose and one in jail for a very long time.  Everything this man has been through, he is now able to rest in peace.  If you see my two children in heaven please tell them I love them
