Beverly Jean Greene

(1940-2012)

Bev, born September 27, 1940, as Beverly Jean Cheney in Lawrence, Michigan, lived in Hartford, Michigan and passed away the evening of January 1, 2012 in Long Beach, California. She was 71. Graduating from Hartford High School, Bev later attended Western Michigan and Lake Michigan College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in art education. In later years, she also completed courses in astronomy and ceramics at Lake Michigan College, then private pilot training at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Bev married Frederick C. Greene in 1963 at the First Congregational Church in St. Joseph, Michigan, where they lived until moving to Long Beach, California in 1979. Beverly, spontaneous and creative, enjoyed taking education and artistic courses and was outgoing and helpful to friends and acquaintances. In later life, Beverly became afflicted with illness, gradually withdrawing from friends and the outside world. Still, Beverly remained loving, caring and dear to her husband of over 48 years together. Bev will be missed deeply by the ones left behind.
