Edward Woodard Jr. was born March 17, 1931 in Arlington, Tennessee to Linnie and Edward Woodard. He was the eighth child of eleven children. Edward grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and in early adulthood moved to Chicago, Illinois. He later relocated to Los Angeles, California.
Anyone who knew Junior, as he was called by his family, knew he enjoyed living life in the fast lane. He was an avid fan of modern jazz music of the late 40’s; artists like Cannonball Addley, Stan Kenton and Stan Getz. However, in his later years he would spend hours listening to classical music. One of his favorite songs was Bolero by the London Symphony Orchestra.
Edward’s mother, father, and nine of his siblings proceeded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory his son Edward Woodard III; brother Herman Woodard (Joyce) of Los Angeles California; sister Mae Jones of Palm Springs California; nieces, Carolyn Granger, Cheryl Cornell, Jackie Woodard, and LaTanjia Robinson; nephew Robert Bruce Woodard Jr; host of great-nieces & great-nephews of Los Angeles California; host of nieces & nephews, great-nieces
