John Andrew Carlson, 51, passed away March 23, 2016 due to heart complications. He was born November 2, 1964 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Dave and Linda Carlson. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Ann Carlson of Long Beach, CA, his loving parents, his siblings, Carolyn Sylte, Mark Carlson, and Kathryn Von Arb, several nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and extended family. John was an accomplished professional who obtained an Associate of Arts Degree in Electrical Mechanical Technology from Chippewa Valley Technical College in Wisconsin. In 1986, he was recruited by McDonnell Douglas, now known as The Boeing Company, and moved to Long Beach, California, where he began his 25-year career as a lead Electronic Test Equipment Technician. Upon leaving Boeing, John joined the Metro Transit Authority where he contributed to the growth and expansion of the metro system. Throughout the years, John gained many certifications and was honored with multiple awards for his loyalty and dedication. One of John’s most coveted accomplishments was obtaining his pilot’s license and flying with his father, Dave. After 16 years in Long Beach, John met the love of his life, Debi. They married on April 5, 2003 and they grew more in love with each passing day. John and Debi never took a day for granted and created priceless memories traveling and cruising every chance they had. John enjoyed his ice cream and cheese curds, as any true Wisconsin native would, but more than that he enjoyed spending time with his family and his beloved wife, Debi. Although his time on earth was cut too short, his heart and soul will exist eternally in heaven and in the hearts of all that were fortunate to know him.
