We have many fond memories of Aunt Leona from childhood through being an adult with my family. I learned a lot from her even though far apart in distance.  
 She was positive, encouraging, and accepting of every person.   She was faithful and so loyal to her family and friends.  She was very devoted to Uncle Spike and her family but also very independent!  She had a sense of humor and never missed an opportunity for a good time!  She was a historian fully keeping many informed of our family, her life and the journey we travel together.   She will be with us through the "Leona-isms" that we will forever remember and cherish.  
 
May God give each of you peace and comfort during your time of loss.

Even if we were in a room with many people, Aunt Leona had a way of making me feel like I was the only person in the room with her.

Aunt Leona always had a smile on her face.  About 30 years ago she laughed as she told me the story of how she and Spike made the long trek from the South Dakota prairie to California during the great depression.  She said, "there was no room in Spike's old car for any of the "frills" a new bride would want to bring with her.  We loaded every nook and cranny with as many tires we could get our hands on.  By the time we reached California, we had used every last one of them!"  She was beaming from ear to ear as she reminisced those days with her one true love.

There is so much I feel I should say at this time. But no words seem adequate. My sister Leona has always been a guiding light of hope for everyone around her. And she continues to be a guiding light even now. I will always treasure having her as my big sister. I just hope you all  know you are being thought about and cared for at this time.

**Leona** means amazing in my book. All she meant to you and to us will remain in our hearts forever. We love you all and wish we could be with you!!

Leona was one of a kind.  Loved by all her sons and their families, but also by thousands of parents in Bellflower because she safely crossed at least a million children on their way to school.  Rest peacefully dear lady, you have earned it.  Mike and Justine Miller
