Lucia Maria Garcia

Lucy (Lucia) Maria Lopez was born on December 6, 1923 in Seligman Arizona to Antonio and Gregoria Lopez. Mom was the 4th in the line of 7 children. Queta, Tony, Hill, Mom, Tommy, Juanita and Cecilia. She spoke of growing up in Seligman with her family but later after graduating moved to Los Angelas to attend Sullivan Beauty College around 1942. She then moved back to Seligman. Lucy married Larry Garcia on July 22, 1945 in Barstow California. They moved to Lakewood California where they purchased the family home, where they resided for 62 years. Lucy was a homemaker for her two oldest children and then the family grew with the addition of two more children. Once the children were in school, she went to work at Douglas Aircraft. She worked as a buyer in the employee store for over 30 years. During this time her and dad enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandkids. Mom was asked where her favorite place to vacation was. Her response was, “Wherever the grandchildren are!!” Mom loved spending time with family and had many holiday get togethers. Lucy is survived by her four children: Ronnie & (Kim), children Leah, Debbie and families. Richard & (Cathy), children Denise, Renee, Nikki and families. Regina (Gina), children Jason, Justin, Brittany, Alicia and Eric.

Robert, children, Vanessa, Jennifer and Cambria. Lucy has a total of 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Rosary, Monday, September 10, 2012 at 10 am, and Funeral Mass, Monday, September 10, 2012 at 10:30 am both at St. Cyprian Church. Internment will be Monday, September 10, 2012 at 1:31 pm at Riverside National Cemetery.
