Virginia Powell Shlemmer

born in Bedford, VA, raised by her Grandparents and attended Mary Washington College. Her first Husband, Major William J. Walker, was a Marine Corps Pilot killed in action in Vietnam. She spent 42 wonderful years with her current husband, David, with whom she ran a successful business & was involved in many charities. She is survived by her loving husband, David & seven children: Julie (Lance), Brooks (Renata), Craig (Leesa), Susan (Howard), Pam (David), Rick (Peggy) & Peter. She leaves her legacy on this earth through her 11 grandchildren: Justin (Liz), Emily, Paige, Scott, Max, Will, Sarah, Jake, Zack, Devin & Madison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 11 a.m. at All Souls Mortuary, 4400 Cherry Ave., Long Beach, CA 90807. Interment to immediately follow at All Souls Cemetery, Long Beach, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary’s Medical Center Foundation, 1050 Linden Ave. Long Beach, CA 90813.
