Audrey Pete Lee Blanton

Audrey Lee “Pete” Blanton, 93, of Longview, TX passed away on July 4, 2012 in a local nursing center. Mr. Blanton was born on September 23, 1918 in Glenfawn, TX. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. Mr. Blanton retired from Longview I.S.D. in 1982 after teaching for over 40 years , most of which was spent teaching 9th grade English.

Mr. Blanton was a member of Wesley McCabe United Methodist Church in Longview, where he taught Sunday School for years. In his free time, Mr. Blanton enjoyed travelling, painting, poetry and gardening. He was also a volunteer at Longview Regional Medical Center.

He is survived by his daughter: Faith Ann Pearson and her husband Richard of Longview; Son: James Paul Blanton and his wife Cindy of Cushing; Grandchildren: Brian Brooks and his wife Hannah, Jonathan Blanton and his wife Shauna and Brittany Blanton; Great Grandchildren: Trace, Parker, Audrey and Jayce.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, TX. Visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, and go until service time at the funeral home.
