

Rev. Gerald Delbert Tucker, 93, of Kilgore, Texas passed away on July 3, 2013 at his residence. He was born September 21, 1919 near Mineola, Texas to Uriah Taylor and Ellen Vera Tucker, the second of six boys. After graduating from high school, he began work at a Civilian Conservation Corps Camp in Mineola and helped build an airport in Grand Prairie, TX. He served his country in WWII as a mechanic in the Army Air Corp. Following the war, he worked 26 years for Warren Petroleum and Gulf Oil.
Rev. Tucker was ordained as an Assemblies of God minister in June, 1966, and served ten years as pastor of Victory Assembly of God (Longview, TX) and Laird Hill Assembly of God (Laird Hill, TX). Rev. Tucker also served 10 years as an instructor at Ozark Bible Institute & College (Neosho, MO), returning to Liberty City, TX for his retirement years.
In 1949, Gerald married Anna Muriel Rice in Illinois. Four children were born: Debbie, David, Michael, and Robert (Bob.) Additionally, three Holmes children came to live with the Tuckers; Ginger, David, and Jeff.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Anna Tucker; daughter Debbie and Roger Lewis of North Richland Hills; sons David and Donna Tucker of Catoosa, OK, Mike and Julie Tucker of Longview, and Robert (Bob) and Bobbie of Liberty City; grandchildren Jeremy Lewis, Daran and Dathan Tucker, Anna and Jared Tucker, Chris and Shannon Tucker, Mandy Davis, Amy Williams, Kelly Thomas (and spouses); and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Tucker is also survived by brother Clive and Clarine Tucker of Longview, numerous sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends from churches and Bible School. He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Norman (Louisiana), Derry (California), Harold (Odessa, TX) and Dwane (Elgin, TX).
Visitation will be Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 6-8:00pm at Lakeview Funeral Home, Longview, TX. The service will be held Monday, July 8, 2013 at 10:00am at Liberty City Assembly of God (Hwy 135).
