James David Mayfield, 62, of Longview, TX, passed away October 21, 2015 at his residence in Longview. He was born March 21, 1953 in Gladewater to Hayden R. and Mary Ann Datel Mayfield. David grew up in the Longview area and graduated from Pine Tree High School in 1972. He was a supervisor for the City of Athens Water Department and retired in September of 2013. He was a member of Greggton First Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and listening to music.
He is survived by his mother: Mary Ann Mayfield of Longview; brother: Roy Mayfield and his wife Linda of Ft. Worth, TX; nieces: Robin Hataway of Lumberton, TX, Traci Lacewell of Ft. Worth, TX, and Misty Brown of Hallsville; nephew: Joel Mayfield of San Antonio, TX; as well as his faithful dog, BooBoo. He is preceded in death by his father, one daughter-Mikki Mayfield; brother-Billy Mayfield and nephew-Kyle Mayfield.
Private services were held under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home.
